Boarding Amenities include: Your cat(s) will enjoy a window perch for sun, bugs and birds! Several visits from a human per day, climbing structures, scratchers, bedding, toys, litter boxes, dishes, a/c or heat, TV and 24/7 live webcam for your assurance!
​Basic wood litter pellets are provided. You are advised to bring your pet's food, specialty litter if preferred, any medications, and any preferred bedding or toys. Please advise of any dietary requirements or restrictions. ****** YES - We are fully insured and background checked!******

Meowtel Inn officially launched in 2025 after realizing a safe, affordable, experienced, quiet and home like cat hotel/boarding space was hard to find in Winnipeg. Cats are creatures of habit and are easily stressed when put in a new environment. We found the cages, sounds and smells of larger facilities made it more stressful than it needed to be and thought of an alternative. Prior to Meowtel Inn, this custom space was providing specialized fostering and boarding services for many animal rescues and 'Rover' clients. Meowtel Inn is still involved with animal rescue in other capacities and is very passionate about animal welfare.
The owner has over 25 years experience working in animal care. She is knowledgeable in pet first aid, medication administration, behavioral management and breed characteristics. There are resident pets living on the premises, however are always kept completely separate from the boarding/hotel area, ensuring the wellbeing and sanitary conditions for everyone. The owner does have a "regular day job", however still provides attentive care and interaction with all guests.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of animals do you board and why are the rates lower than other places?
We can board up to 4 cats from the same household at once. We used to provide small critter boarding but the demand for cats has taken over! We can recommend other reputable sitters if needed. Sorry - We do not provide boarding for dogs or reptiles.
Rates are lower not because of inexperience, but because we are a small operation without overhead cost and can pass the savings onto you! The goal is not to take as many animals as possible, but to provide safe and stress-free boarding. And yes - we are insured!

What vaccinations are required? (copy of vaccination record required)
* Distemper (FVRCP), Rhinotracheitis (feline viral rhinotracheitis), Calicivirus, Panleukopenia (feline distemper),
OR Distemper (FVRCPC) within 2-3 years unless advised against by veterinarian.
* Rabies (indoor and outdoor cats) - within last 3 years unless advised against.
* Feline Leukemia (FeLV) (indoor and outdoor cats) if recommended by your veterinarian.
* ALL CATS OVER 6 MONTHS MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless there is a medical reason.
*Senior cats may be at risk of Sarcoma if vaccinated, a vet note is sufficient to waive this.

Why should I board with Meowtel Inn instead of a bigger kennel or drop in pet sitter?
The benefit to Meowtel Inn, is having a big, safe 'apartment' for your cat to relax in without a cage, waiting for their turn to play, fighting with others through a door or having someone stop in once a day for 30 minutes or less. Because your cat is the only guest we take at one time, all attention is on them. In larger facilities, cats have to wait their turn to come out of their cage or condo to play and sometimes medical concerns or litter habits go unnoticed. At Meowtel Inn, several times a day your cat will get wellbeing visits, interactive play time and cuddles. Your cat is never left alone onsite overnight either, we are feet away and have a vehicle for emergencies.

Will my cat be stressed out in a new place?
Possibly - at first. Some cats are confident and adjust to new places quickly while others take time. Rest assured we have worked with many fearful, even aggressive cats over the years, and we have socialized the worst of the worst! We provide plenty of safe spaces for your cat to retreat to if needed and have patience. After 3-4 days, cats are more comfortable.
Can I meet you and view the space before making a decision?
Of course! We offer a 20 minute complimentary visit. Please contact to arrange an appointment time. We do not allow your cat to come with you for this unless you know they enjoy travelling and new places.
